Marnie Schneider Named President of Women's Division of Global Flag Football League
(GFFL) Tampa, FL- June 25, 2024 The Global Flag Football League (GFFL) is proud to announce the appointment of Marnie Schneider as President of the Women's division of the GFFL. The GFFL is a groundbreaking new professional league for both men's and women's flag football teams, owned in partnership by current and former NFL players and their passionate fans in or near NFL cities. Marnie Schneider is the CEO of GameDay and author of the book series " GameDay In The USA " She is also an inspirational speaker, podcaster, and philanthropist whose activities exemplify her passion for sports and helping others achieve their own victories. Marnie's focus on football and philanthropy is part of her family heritage. She is the granddaughter of Leonard Tose, former owner of the Philadelphia Eagles and founder of the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) and the daughter of Susan Tose Spencer, the first (and still the only) female GM of an NFL team.
She served as legal counsel and VP for the Eagles as well. Marnie Schneider expressed her excitement about leading the women's league of the GFFL: "I am incredibly proud to lead the women's league of the Global Flag Football League. This groundbreaking initiative represents a significant step forward for the sport, providing a professional platform for both men and women to showcase their talents. One of the unique aspects of the league is in pay equality as the women will make as much or more as the men. Regarding the importance of inclusivity for women in a league for flag football, Schneider stated: "As CEO of Gameday in the USA, I am thrilled to be part of a league paving the way for more opportunities for women in sports, particularly in flag football. This league not only highlights the incredible talent and athleticism of female athletes but also promotes inclusivity and equality in professional sports. By providing a prominent platform for women to excel and compete, we are inspiring a new generation of young athletes to pursue their dreams and redefining the landscape of sports for the better." Schneider also emphasized the importance of fan engagement: "As CEO of Gameday in the USA, I understand the vital role that fan engagement plays in the success of professional sports, especially among younger fans. The Global Flag Football League is committed to creating an interactive environment that connects deeply with our audience. Marnie Schneider is very active as a host and co-host on several podcasts, including " Journey Through Sports and Life Podcast " and "You're Gonna Know," which focus on sports celebrities and lifestyle. She just launched her "Game On! X's and O's for Life' Playbook" Channel on the AlumniMedia streaming platform.
Schneider has received honors for her time and attention spent raising money for the Ronald McDonald House, Alzheimer's Association and various animal humane and rescue societies. She actively serves on the board of the Ronald McDonald House in Charlotte, NC, the board of Soldiers to Sidelines , and the Charlotte Humane Society. A Philadelphia native, Marnie Schneider graduated from Penn State with a journalism degree and now lives in Charlotte, NC with her three children and her mother.
