Global Flag Football League Appoints Flag Football Icon To Vice President

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – April 28, 2025 – The Global Flag Football League (GFFL) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Eric "Unk" Cooper to the role of Vice President-Football Operations. Known throughout the flag football community as energetic and visionary, Eric brings over two decades of unparalleled experience in coaching, training, and athletic development.

In his new role as Vice President, reporting directly to the President, and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of football operations. This includes the strategic management of staff performance, including the Commissioner and the Director of Women's Global Outreach, as well as other crucial areas of scheduling, event management, rules and compliance, field operations, and equipment management. 

“Eric’s passion for flag football is unmatched and his leadership, innovation, and deep understanding of the game make him the perfect fit to lead our football operations”, said league President Patrick Johnson. 

Cooper has successfully launched and managed a diverse portfolio of highly acclaimed events, including the electrifying Unk Pop-up Tournaments, the fiercely competitive Fall Classic, the thrilling Halloween Havoc, the cherished Turkey Bowl, the heartwarming Unk’s Holiday Toy Drive, and the popular Unk’s Monday Night Flag Football League.

As a USA FLAG Tournament Director, Unk has consistently delivered world-class events, organizing tournaments in the USA and Mexico that attract anywhere from 50 to 1000 teams per event.
